1 litre whole milk
100g cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp cayenne powder
25ml measure of whisky
Warm up from the inside out with this Mexican hot chocolate with Jack Daniels Whiskey!
Begin by making a ﬁre in your ﬁrepit or chimenea then letting the flames die down and the heat to build.
Once the ﬁre is hot enough, heat half of the milk over the ﬁre in large saucepan until it simmers.
Add the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and cayenne powder then whisk until the mixture is smooth. Add the remaining milk and a splash of your favourite whiskey! (We used Jack Daniels) Continue to heat over the ﬁre until it is hot to your liking.
Pour into a large mug, leaving enough room to top with marshmallows and a drizzle of chocolate sauce!
Serve the Mexican hot chocolate immediately and enjoy.
TIP! You can use evaporated milk and chocolate chips to replace the whole milk and cocoa powder or you can even make it healthier by using cacao powder instead of cocoa powder and dates instead of sugar!
